Η Τζέρι κι ο Τομ βρίσκουν την γαμήλια ζωή δύσκολη. Ο Τομ είναι εφευρέτης και βγάζει λίγα λεφτά. Ενώ είναι στα πρόθυρα της έξωσης, η Τζέρι βρίσκει απρόσμενα δουλειά και φέρνει τα πρώτα κέρδη στο σπίτι. Ο Τομ δεν πιστεύει στην ιστορία της κι αρχίζει ο καβγάς.
